The Story
Within the conference room at Total Dermatology, laminated glass featuring a natural rice paper interlayer was used to introduce texture and subtle privacy while maintaining the openness of glass partitions. Conference rooms require a balance between transparency and privacy. While glass partitions maintain visual openness and allow light to pass through spaces, fully transparent glass can limit privacy during meetings or collaborative discussions.
Goldray fabricated laminated glass panels incorporating rice paper between the glass panes.
The natural fibers create a soft, textured appearance that diffuses light and partially obscures views while preserving the strength and durability of laminated glass.
The rice-paper-laminated glass provides a refined balance between openness and privacy within the conference room. The natural material adds visual warmth and texture while complementing the contemporary interior design of the clinic. The installation demonstrates how laminated glass can incorporate organic materials to create distinctive architectural features within modern workplace environments.
